David Whitehair gave the OCLC update at the AJL conference.  During the discussion following his presentation someone suggested that OCLC enhance the indexing for authority records.  David asks if he can be given an example of what more is needed with respect to enhanced indexing - his email is below. Thanks much for the opportunity to meet with the AJL group last week.

During the discussion, someone suggested that we enhance the indexing for authority records.  Unfortunately, I didn't record who asked for this.  Do you happen to remember?  Or is it possible to send a question to the group?

The comment was that catalogers are entering lots of additional data in the authority records, so they would like to search on it.  Can we get an example of what more is needed?

I thought they were referencing 3XX data, but there is already significant indexing of the 3XX fields.
