Sarah,

I'm so encouraged to see "personal values surrounding money" on the list of important considerations. The tip of the spear for ethical financial planning has been focused on this area, as well as "money scripts" which relate to our earliest encounters with money and how they affect our money behaviors, for some time.

These topics, and the discussion at large about how we relate to money, seem to be missing from the conversation in academic environments for the most part. Kudos. This is definitely the direction the industry is heading in as financial planning, wealth management, and even financial product sales people are forced to become more focused on the unique situations of each client.

There are many great sources for this topic, but the best place to start may be found in the books by George Kinder including The Seven Stages of Money Maturity.

Thanks for the important work you are doing.

Dave

Some of our other online wellness courses are being offered on other campuses, and we hope to share this one with other schools as well. It could be facilitated entirely online or through a hybrid format.

This is a 2 part module with an implied mandate to complete. Additionally, all of our incoming 1st year and transfer students attend a financial wellness session during Welcome Week titled Live Like a Student (the same name as our campaign). Finally, we are exploring mandating 1:1 financial wellness appointments for students receiving institutional loans. More to come on that one.
