Spring Festival Gala to stream on iQiyi

CCTV’s annual Spring Festival Gala to stream online exclusively on iQiyi
One of the most important galas in China, CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala will broadcast online exclusively on Chinese streaming website iQiyi, according to a press conference held by China Central Television (CCTV) and iQiyi on February 11.
This is the first time that CCTV has cooperated with a streaming site in the gala’s 30-year history.
“CCTV choose us because of our streaming content and wide coverage among users,” said Ma Dong, chief content officer at iQiyi.
“This also marks CCTV’s first attempt to broadcast globally through TV and streaming platforms.”
Not only will the gala appear on iQiyi, a series of self-produced videos about the gala will also be available online.
