Visiting Lecturer in Chinese Studies

The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, University of
Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, invites applications for a position as
Visiting Lecturer in Chinese Studies for the 2013-2014 academic year. The
successful candidate must have PhD in Chinese Literature in hand at the
time of appointment and teaching experience. Teaching duties include 3
courses per semester at both graduate and undergraduate levels. The
successful candidate is required to teach five undergraduate courses and
one graduate seminar: East Asian literature, Chinese literature and film
in translation, Chinese popular literature, Chinese civilization, and an
undergraduate senior seminar; the topics of the graduate and undergraduate
seminars should be in the specialization of the candidate. The person
appointed should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching. The
target date of appointment is August 16, 2013. Salary commensurate with
