Panel: Modern Chinese Poetry and its "Others"

This panel focuses on modern-contemporary Chinese poetry and its "others."
 We are interested in exploring the ways in which this poetry has sought
to define itself, in contradistinction to other modes of expression in
both diachronic (from classical Chinese poetry) and synchronic (against
other literary genres and media) and against those traditions taken to be
"non-Chinese" (Western, Diasporic, Ethnic etc).
