The talk advertised here for 29 June in Chelsea might interest people who are near London, perhaps after the International Virginia Woolf Conference in Canterbury?
All good wishes,

> A Bloomsbury Room: Masterworks by Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant
> Friday 29 June, 4.30pm Piano Nobile, Stand D16
> Designed to evoke the experience of entering one of the Bloomsbury Group’s famous homes – at Charleston, Monk’s House, Fitzroy or Gordon Square – the display will showcase a range of major paintings, ceramic work, and textile designs. Building on the success of the Gallery’s recent exhibition, several works which were originally purchased direct by the artists’ family and friends' will be brought to the open market for the first time. These objects illustrate the dazzling versatility of Bell and Grant's creative vision and present Bloomsbury’s joyful philosophy of the modern home where radical and vibrant paintings combine with applied arts to elevate one’s lived environment to the status high art.
>
> Cedric Morris, Michael Andrews and Leon Kossoff: The Artists and their Sitters
> Tuesday 3 July, 12 noon Piano Nobile, Stand D16
> Michael Andrews, Leon Kossoff and Cedric Morris are masters of modern British art. Their reputations stand on their varied approaches to figurative painting, but the particular quality of their portraiture is indebted to their sitters. This talk will explore the interpersonal bonds that shaped both the artists and those friends, lovers and antagonists they chose to depict.
