It might be worth noting that Oscar Wilde had explicitly linked the
Bradshaw guide with naming in the 4-act version of The Importance of Being
Earnest, a play in which naming is of course thematized throughout:

Jack:  Station! Who on earth is talking about a station?  I merely want to
find out my father's Christian name.

Chasuble:  But you have handed me a Bradshaw.  Of 1869, I observe.  A book
of considerable antiquarian interest:  but not in any way bearing on the
question of the names usually conferred on Generals at baptism.
