I want to let everyone know that I am updating Blogging Woolf regularly to include additional information that people post to the list regarding teaching a class in London.
I added Jeanette McVicker's information this morning, including the generous contribution of her syllabus and itinerary for her 2011 class, "Literary London: Seminar on Virginia Woolf," that she sent me off-list. Here's the link to the whole piece: Taking a class to Virginia Woolf's England http://wp.me/p5Yfi-23n   Paula MaggioBlogging Woolfhttps://bloggingwoolf.wordpress.com/

I just wanted to remind all of you that regular registration for the 25th Annual International Conference on Virginia Woolf ends Tuesday, April 21st. After Tuesday, you will still be able to register but will have to pay the higher rate.

Below I?m including a link to both the program and the registration page. The conference promises to be very exciting with academics from around the world coming to present their work on Virginia Woolf and her female contemporaries.

Also, because of the number of shuttle requests from Newark we have already received, we are adding a 2:00 PM shuttle from Newark International Airport to Bloomsburg University on June 3rd.

So, don?t miss out on the lower registration rate, and if you had delayed firming up your plans because you had hopped for an earlier shuttle, now is the time to grab that opportunity.

Registration:
http://woolf.bloomu.edu/?page_id=81

Program:
http://woolf.bloomu.edu/?page_id=88

If you have any questions, please contact me.

It's going to be a really spectacular event thanks to all of you!

Julie`

Sorry to join this thread late: I too have taught a Woolf course in London
(2 wks only) as well as a Bloomsbury course and another that included
Woolf. Like several others suggest, a walk correlating to *Mrs Dalloway* is
a must; we also visit several places mentioned in the *London Scene*
essays, bolstered by exhibits and archives at Museums of London (the
special collections person there is superb and generous) and Docklands;
Lincoln's Inn was a good way to give students connections with *The Years*.
Charleston and Monks House were incredible experiences for the students as
well as for me. British Library and British Museum, and a day trip to
Oxford, helped our students make some important connections with AROO. (In
the Bloomsbury course, we also included a day trip to Cambridge.) Have fun,
Jane!

Dear Woolfians,

Duke has acquired a major collection of women's writing & printing from
Lisa Baskin, including Woolf's desk.

http://today.duke.edu/2015/04/baskinrelease

I had the honor of visiting Lisa Baskin in her home a few years ago and got
to see the desk. It's amazing and the collection is full of treasures.

Hi Julie, et. al.,

I'm not sure what all the receipt concerns are about.  When I placed my reservation order with my credit card on 3/21/15, I did receive an order confirmation (#103) by e-mail.  I printed up a copy.  I assume that is sufficient.

All best,

This modern literature time chart was sent to me by Lucy London, a most helpful woman in England, who is working on women and the Great War and she gave me leave to pass it along.

Looking forward to meeting and greeting many of you at the IVW Conference in June--

I should have made clear that Lucy London?s special interest is women poets of the Great War?not only in the UK but all over the world.

Her work can be accessed at http://femalewarpoets.blogspot.com/

Cheers--
