*1) ODE Mathematics and Science Partnership (MSP):* The Ohio Department of
Education MSP funds partnerships between high-need schools, STEM faculty,
and others for projects that increase the subject matter content of
mathematics and science teachers. The new RFP has three types of programs (
http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Finance-and-Funding/Grants/Competitive-Grants/Ohio-Mathematics-and-Science-Partnership-MSP-Pro).
>From the ODE MSP website:

   - *Theory building* programs are smaller programs. Generally these
programs will include a partnership between 1 IHE’s STEM Department and 1
to 5 HNLEA. The maximum annually funding for these programs is $250,000
   annually (approximately $3,500.00 per teacher).
   - *Theory testing* programs test theories, State of Ohio developed
curricular materials, and/or rampant up of a successful OMSP program. These
programs will include a partnership between 1 IHE’s STEM Department and 10
or more HNLEAs. The maximum funding for these programs is $500,000
   (approximately $4,500.00 per teacher) annually.
   - *Masters in Mathematics or Science Content *programs provide advanced
science or mathematics courses to secondary science teachers that culminate
in a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Biology, Physical Geology, Ecology, or
Physics. For a teacher who already has a Master’s degree the program will
provide 18 hours of content courses at the Masters level in Mathematics,
Biology, Physical Geology, Ecology or Physics from the College of Arts and
Science. The maximum funding for these programs is $500,000 (approximately
   $11,000 per teacher) annually.

Grants are for two years. Proposals are due May 15.

*2) The NSF Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER)* funds
"junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through
outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education
and research within the context of the mission of their organizations." The
new CAREER solicitation announces the due dates for 2015 (
http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=503214):

BIO, CISE, EHR: July 21, 2015
ENG: July 22, 2015
GEO, MPS, SBE: July 23, 2015

Budget minimums are $400,000 ($500,000 for BIO, ENG, and PLR) over 5 years.
STEM Initiatives has several offerings to help Ohio State faculty prepare
CAREER proposals:

with recent Ohio State faculty members who have received NSF CAREER awards
and former NSF program directors. A videorecording will be available soon.
*March 24:* "How to Write a Winning NSF CAREER Proposal

Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM): *The National Science Foundation has
released a revised solicitation for the PAESMEM program (
http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=5473). From the program
solicitation:
