Over the coming months, ASCTech staff and students from PCF will be
visiting every computer in Physics to be certain it is properly
inventoried and that it meets OSU security policy. This effort,
mandated by the Office of the Chief Information Officer and backed by
the Provost and Board of Trustees and our Executive Dean, is named
"Three and Green in 2018." This name refers to scoring on security
policies, and is often abbreviated TaG18.
Details concerning TaG18 are available here:
https://osuasc.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=29881
Please read the above article first if you have any questions or
concerns. Additional questions may be directed to
action at physics.osu.edu.
Please note that this applies to all OSU-owned computers and mobile
devices, such as tablets and smartphones, including those you may use
off-campus. It does not apply to personally-owned devices not
purchased with University or research funds.
This also means we will be asking some of you for help locating all
computers, including ones not currently turned on. TaG18 applies to
*all* University-owned computers, even if they are only "gathering
dust."
This effort is intended to improve computer and network security, not
only for the benefit of the University, but also to reduce the risk of
interruption to your ability to work.
