[This slightly more detailed version is the one I meant to send out. My
apologies for the mistake.]

Starting now, and over the coming months, ASCTech staff and students
from PCF will be visiting every computer in Physics to be certain it
is properly inventoried and that it meets OSU security policy. This
effort, mandated by the Office of the Chief Information Officer and
backed by the Provost and Board of Trustees and our Executive Dean, is
named "Three and Green in 2018." This name refers to scoring on
security policies, and is abbreviated TaG18.

Details concerning TaG18 are available here:

https://osuasc.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=29881

Please read the above article first if you have any questions or
concerns. Additional questions may be directed to
action at physics.osu.edu.

Please note that this applies to all OSU-owned computers and mobile
devices, such as tablets and smartphones, including those you may use
off-campus. It does not apply to personally-owned devices not
purchased with University or research funds.

This also means we will be asking some of you for help locating all
computers, including ones not currently turned on. TaG18 applies to
*all* University-owned computers, even if they are only "gathering
dust."

This effort is intended to improve computer and network security, not
only for the benefit of the University, but also to reduce the risk of
interruption to your ability to work.

Some additional details about how we will execute the project:

- PCF staff (Terry Bradley, Andrew Canale, Bryan Dunlap) and students
(Parker Hunt, Will Kelly, Alex Lutz) will be performing the work. We
hope to also get some assistance from other ASCTech staff, and we
are hoping to fill a currently empty student position with a new
person. We will share with you the names of other personnel. You can
always confirm someone's identity by calling us at 2-4269 or
   emailing action at physics.osu.edu.

- We will use both personal visits and emails from the above people as
methods of arranging a convenient time for both the customer and the
   PCF staff.

- Each computer will take from 15-30 minutes to complete. We will do
what we can to minimize the inconvenience of the time spent. Some
   special cases might take longer.

- The method for dealing with off-campus OSU-owned computers will be
   determined on a case-by-case basis.
