Dedicated OACRAO Members,

I hope that those of you who were able to attend the 2019 OACRAO Conference last week, truly enjoyed yourselves and learned from the all of the amazing presentations.
We hope that you were able to participate in the wonderful auction and other activities coordinated by the Scholarship Committee.

The OACRAO SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS LIVE!!  LET'S MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENCOUAGE OUR STUDENTS TO COMPLETE THE APPLICTION.

Three deserving students will be awarded a $1000 scholarship. Please encourage your student workers within the Registrar's, Admissions, Student Services and Enrollment Management offices to apply for the OACRAO scholarship!
The recipients of this scholarship are students who exemplify leadership and exceptional service skills. They are our future.

The deadline to submit the application is November 1, at 5 p.m.

84 applications were submitted in 2017.
150 applications were submitted in 2018.

Please continue to give to this worthy effort to help others continue their education. We must sustain. We would prefer to not to be in a situation, where we must lower the scholarship amounts that we award.  We would rather not continue to deplete the OACRAO account.
In the first year of the existence of the OACRAO Scholarship Committee, 2 students were awarded $500 scholarships. OACRAO was able to work diligently towards increasing their effort, to provide a $1000 scholarship to 3 students.  It is wonderful to be a part of growth.  What can each OACRAO member do throughout the year, to help contribute to this important gift to Ohio students?  Even a small donation from each member would add up. Perhaps some of us can conduct small fundraisers within our offices, within our divisions or communities. The Scholarship Committee would love to raise at least $3000 each year.  Last year we raised $1804 and this year, so far $1813.  It ain't over folks!  You can still help us reach our goal.  We have 78 days remaining, until Dec 31, 2019. This is continuous and we must always think ahead.

I would like to give a very special thank you to the members of the OACRAO Scholarship Committee. The group did a wonderful job obtaining auction items and remaining inspired.
Our work is not done. When the application closes, we will thoroughly review and make the difficult decision on the 3 finalists.  Our goal is to have the decision made and announced by the 1st week in December.

An extra special thank you to the OACRAO Executive Board for their continued guidance, enthusiasm and support.
