Continuities: Classical Poetics in Modern Chinese Poetry
 

We are writing to request papers for the 2013 meeting of the
Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association meeting (in Vancouver, WA), and
also to announce that the heretofore "Modern Chinese Poetry" standing
session has now been renamed. The new name, "Chinese Poetry," reflects a
general approach more appropriate to the wider, international/global
cultural territory of the (RM)MLA.

Thus, for inaugural run of the newly-named session, our topic
is modern-classical literary connections in Chinese poetry. Abstracts for
papers exploring remaining (or resurgent) textual and/or
sociological-cultural forms of classical poetics in twentieth and
twenty-first century Chinese poetry are welcome. Send proposals to my
address (below) by March 1, 2013.
