I saw Wu Wenguang and four of the students involved in the filmmaking
project present their work at a Yunnan University conference last summer.
It was fascinating to hear the students, who had been quite unaware of the
traumatic Great Leap Forward history, talk about interviewing grandparents
and learning about how it affected for their families for the first time.
This sounds like a very interesting event, and I'm glad that Wu is taking
on this period with his village filming projects.
