[Intl_DxMedPhys] ACR PET Count Rate Performance Test

The way the manual is written, the idea is to enter a revised dose assay (injection, residual, time) for the boosted phantom and then compare the original and boosted background SUVs. Both of them in the order of 1.0.

I find it easier to scan the boosted phantom using the original dose assay scheme - i.e. don't correct anything for the boost dose. Then figure out what the boosted background is expected to be (ratio of boosted to original background activities) and compare that to ratio of background ROIs measurements on the boosted and original phantoms.

I typically draw up my boost dose, after I finish preparing the phantom. The boost-dose and boost-dose residual need to be corrected for decay - i.e. all corrected to the dose B assay time.

I've attached a spreadsheet that does the decay corrections. If you're still having trouble, feel free to reach out.

All,

Wondering if someone could walk me through the PET Count Rate Performance test as outlined in the ACR PET QC Manual. I have had trouble getting it to pass on a Siemens unit and am wondering if it is my scanner settings (dose, injection time, etc.).

Feel free to email privately if that is more desired.

Thanks,
Shane
