[Intl_DxMedPhys] DXA Technologist Precision Assessment with Multiple Scanners

Hi List,

I have a question regarding DXA technologist precision assessment following
the ISCD guidelines (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://iscd.org/official-positions-2023/__;!!KGKeukY!xqOFH9mtDybtrvePkh2FBoMIvvdW9I0KLdyYUGFTD25JJV_XHBLlRxHQERCLv3Np1k8xyTMNt_62MYnPgJrtOM7l6r5NmSh5kwWVZqbfT8PV$ ). For a
single facility with multiple DXA scanners, does each technologist need to
scan 30 patients on each scanner to determine precision separately?

In one clinic, we have two GE iDXA scanners located side by side and two
technologists who both scan patients on both units. When submitting
precision data, should each technologist perform 30 scans per scanner, or
can they divide the scans between the two units (for example, 15 on each)
to reach a total of 30? Alternatively, is it acceptable to randomly
distribute the scans across both scanners? The ISCD guidelines don’t seem
to clarify this situation.

If you have a similar setup, I’d appreciate hearing how your site handles
this.
