[Intl_DxMedPhys] 131-I causing electronic failures?

Hello,

Can 131-I radiation therapy for hyperthyroidism cause malfunction of an implanted electronic device?

How much of a risk are we talking about here? The betas have short range, so I’m not sure what type of malfunction can 131-I cause.
