I am cataloging the book Shirim u-ma'amarot by Aryeh Ludvig Shtra'us (AKA Strauss, Ludwig, 1892-1953). The title on the title page verso is: Gedichte, Auswahl aus "Wintersaat". The English catalog record I found in OCLC gives uniform title 240 Wintersaat $l Hebrew, and the title on the verso would imply that this is the Hebrew translation of selections from the author's book of poetry in German. The record also classified the book under the author's lit number in German literature, and the number for Wintersaat with a translation code for Hebrew added to the second Cutter.
But a quick browsing of the book on my part leads me to believe that, despite the alternate title, the book contains poems that Strauss wrote in Hebrew, primarily from his book Sha'ot va-dor. Nor is there any note in the book about translation or translator (from German). I also found a Hebrew record in OCLC for the book that did not give the German uniform title, which is in keeping with my perception. I would classify the book under PJ5054.S8, which is the author's lit number in Hebrew literature. Is anyone familiar with this book and know if any of the poems are translated from the German, or would agree that these are primarily Hebrew poems (despite the title page verso) and should be classified with Hebrew lit, and that this is not the Hebrew version of Wintersaat?
