According the preface (it happens the book is on my desk getting ready to get charged out to be read on the train), the 2008 edition included translations of notes that weren’t in the 1980 edition. --Aaron

Subject: [Heb-NACO] History of the Yiddish language, by Max Weinreich

Colleagues,
I know this is not a Heb-NACO question, but I am sure that I will find the answer here:
We have the 1980 edition of Max Weinreich book on the History of the Yiddish Language, published by the University of Chicago Press.
A patron asked us to purchase the 2008 Yale University Press edition as being expanded. Does anyone know if the 2008 edition is an updated edition?

Thank you for your help,

Yossi
