Hi, all,

As folks who have been around a bit know, fall is a crazy season for comics-related stuff on campus. Frederick and I will be in touch soon with information about Sol-Con, Cartoon Crossroads Columbus (CXC) and other events.

But first, we have a special event coming up soon on September 8th: a workshop run by legendary autobiographical cartoonist Carol Tyler <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Tyler>  focused on hands-on “graphic medicine”: the use of comics as a tool to address illness, trauma, and other health challenges. This is not a lecture, but a three-hour workshop about telling your own stories through comics. Carol is both a brilliant cartoonist and someone who has thought deeply about graphic medicine<https://www.graphicmedicine.org/carol-tyler-bringing-it-all-back-home/>

The workshop is only $10 for the three hours, and spaces are going fast (you also get include a tour by me of the Drawing Blood: Comics and Medicine<http://cartoons.osu.edu/events/drawing-blood-comics-and-medicine/> exhibition at the Billy Ireland thrown in, but you can ask me for one of those any time— the show is up through October 20.)
