MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2025 Jan 17
Observer(s): John Thorstensen
Institution(s): Dartmouth
Instrument: Templeton direct
Worked for 13 hours (all night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.
Seeing and Weather:
Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable
Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable
End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable
Observing Summary:
A really fine night, clear all through with good seeing. Rather
bright, though. The dome behaved itself - I suspect last night's
issue may have been an operator error. The telescope closed up
properly at the end of the night, so there's no need for anyone
to go up and close it.
I did have one problem - I was unable to set on targets north of
+74, and I had one I wanted to get. See trouble report.
