All,

As I mentioned in the introductory meeting we have the CIC conference in Chicago each year. Please see the details below about how to sign-up for FEF and what is needed to be eligible to do so. We typically take 3-5 students. So please let me know as soon as possible if you have any interest in going to the FEF CIC!!

Janet Meier (CC'd) attended last year and can answer any questions about attending the event!!

fefinc.org
Offers educational programs for students and educators in the metal casting industry.

Your students need to register on the FEF website as soon as possible (CIC delegates, scholarships recipients, anyone taking your class)

* If they registered in previous years, they only need to update their profile - not create a new one; they should have received a reactivation email in July

* If they don't follow this procedure, you (and company representatives) will not be able to view their information and it will look like they haven't registered

* If anyone has problems with their profile, email me - pam at fefinc.org<mailto:pam at fefinc.org>

NEW Internship/Co-Op Scholarships

                * Please remind your students that (if they have had an internship or co-op during 2016) they can apply for one of five $2000 scholarships that will be awarded in November

                * Deadline for submission is October 30, 2016

                * Information and applications are online here<http://fefinc.org/employment/internship-co-op-scholarship.html>

Regarding CIC delegate selection

* The deadline for all your names to be submitted in order of preference is October 14, 2016 - click here for all the details<http://fefinc.org/choosing-cic-delegates.html>

* You may bring Juniors to the CIC if they are looking for an internship

* Please only bring students who have not already made a job commitment

* Repeat delegates are only selected to attend a second year after all of the first-time attendees and students looking for internships have been exhausted; please include your repeat students who do not have job commitments at the end of your list of selected delegates

AFS Wisconsin Regional & Casting Competition - February 8-10, 2017

Casting Congress - Apr 25-27, 2017 - Milwaukee, WI

                * FEF will have a booth and will be looking for help from students (we'll send out a signup sheet closer to the event)

                * If needed, FEF will help with prof & student travel costs - we encourage ALL schools to attend this important networking event!

Here is a link to the annual school survey - http://fefinc.org/school-survey.html - the deadline for submitting this is 10/7/16. Thanks for your help with this!

If you have any questions, please let me know. Have a great school year and see you in November (or before)!
