The Ohio Department of Education received approval to expand free breakfast and lunch to all students attending schools on the National School Lunch Program through the entire 2020-2021 school year. |

Ohio Collaborative for Educating Remotely and Transforming Schools offers second round of funding
Philanthropy Ohio and the Ohio Department of Education are announcing the opening of a second round of applications for funding from the Ohio Collaborative for Educating Remotely and Transforming Schools. A webinar to answer questions about the grant will be held on Oct. 22. Grant applications are due Nov. 9. |

School leaders and community partners who want to learn how to better support military-connected students and families are invited to attend the Purple Star Town Hall series this month. These town halls can serve as the required professional development for Ohio’s Purple Star school liaisons and schools applying for Purple Star recognition. |

Stay in the Game! Network seeks attendance success stories
The Ohio Department of Education has partnered with the Cleveland Browns and Harvard’s Proving Ground to form the Stay in the Game! Network focused on improving student attendance and engagement in school. As part of this effort, the Cleveland Browns would like to hear from students who are succeeding at staying in the game this school year. One student who submits an attendance success story will win a football autographed by Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. |
