All of these documents can also be reviewed at www.oagc.com/statebudget.asp <http://www.oagc.com/statebudget.asp> which also includes a new presentation that provides more information on gifted (http://www.oagc.com/files/FairSchoolFunding.SE.Gifted.ELL.presentation.4.4.19.pdf <http://www.oagc.com/files/FairSchoolFunding.SE.Gifted.ELL.presentation.4.4.19.pdf>)

as well as OAGC’s concerns about the formula presented for gifted in the Fair School Funding Plan (http://www.oagc.com/files/OAGC%20Response%20to%20the%20Gifted%20Cost%20Study7.25.18(1).pdf) <http://www.oagc.com/files/OAGC%20Response%20to%20the%20Gifted%20Cost%20Study7.25.18(1).pdf)>

Major concerns include the need to include funding accountability in this budget for state gifted funding (no need to study this), a high GIS/student ratio that would underfund gifted intervention specialists, and the need for more ESC funding to support rural districts.

So, we now see an executive summary, the full report, and the few words the 27-page report offers specifically on gifted ed.

The plan would base funding for schools on the actual cost of providing an education, factoring in the ability of the district to raise money locally, with additional funding for high-poverty, gifted, special ed and English language learners and other factors.
