Hi Terry and others,

OAGC has a long history with Randy Gardner. He has been supportive in the past of gifted students, but not necessarily all College Credit Plus issues that affect gifted students. (He does have two past OAGC awards for his support on gifted funding issues.) He is very supportive of public schools, but that doesn’t necessarily translate to support for students/parents on CCP issues. The specific issue that we disagreed about was students having to pay for CCP courses in private colleges. Under PSEO there was no public school student payment. To be fair, there were many competing interests in the development of CCP laws.

I have always found Randy to be a thoughtful and well-meaning legislator. I think he has all the makings of a good Chancellor.
