OAGC December News Flash - Teacher Academy; Advocacy; Donations
Spring Teacher Academy
OAGC is gearing for the up the OAGC Spring Teacher Academy, which will
feature Dina Brulles. It isn't too soon to register! If you would like to
be part of this academy, which will be held at the Doubletree Worthington
on February 26th and 27th, 2018, please consider submitting a proposal. The
deadline for proposals is December 15, 2017. If you need more time, email

Advocacy
The big news continues to be SB216, the so-called education deregulation
bill which would eliminate, among other things, the requirement for
classroom teachers serving gifted students to have relevant gifted

Gifted HQPD -- High Quality Professional Development

As the gifted operating standards are now in effect, OAGC has been working
hard to assist districts in implementing the new classroom teacher gifted
HQPD requirement. As part of our on-going effort to ensure that Ohio's
classroom teachers receive Ohio specific and relevant professional

OAGC is looking for a few good articles for the Spring Review. To ask for

February 15th. We are particularly looking for articles about how districts
are successfully implementing the new gifted operating standards including
the gifted professional development standards for classroom teachers who
are providing services to gifted students.
