Hello Mr. Fitzhugh,

Thank you so much for your letter about The Concord Review's Winter Issue. Not only am I honored to have the opportunity to publish my paper [15,577 words on the 1969 Sino-Soviet Split] in such a reputable journal, but the message of the letter [article by Walt Gardner on elitism] you attached also strongly resonated with me.

I attend a gifted program at my high school, and I often feel as if we are brushed off by the high school administration. We are given very little funding, and the representatives of our program have to fight to continue our classes. The program is already being phased out, as the freshman class this year is the final class that will graduate from it.

My school (which also has a special needs program) covers a wide spectrum of academic needs. I just wish that the administration was equally invested in every portion of the spectrum.

Thanks again,
Kavya Srikanth
