[Ohiogift] Skipping a grade

Karen is absolutely correct in regards to the Iowa Acceleration Scale and
the change that will occur within the family. There definitely will be
issues that will come about as a result of something so dramatic. However,
respectfully, I must disagree with the last statement. I once played a role
in a very successful similar acceleration. Prior to this experience, I
would have made the exact same statement.

Just know that each situation and family dynamic is going to be different.
All factors and possibilities must be considered, even for the sibling that
is not accelerated. Should a child be left stagnant just because another
member of their family learns at a different pace?

Food for thought.

Respectfully,

Casey Holtzman
