> Dear Colleague,
> Ohio has delayed its plans to require the administration of a nationally standardized assessment to predict college readiness until there is more certainty about all assessment requirements in the state. Here at the College Board, we realize this delay may cause challenges at the district level in terms of college readiness assessment and planning. In an effort to support Ohio school districts that want to administer a college readiness assessment to all their 10th‐grade students in 2014, the College Board will offer the PSAT/NMSQT® at the state-agreed-to rate of $10.20 per enrolled sophomore, a discount of 27% off the standard test fee of $14. To take advantage of this opportunity, each school district (whether one or multiple high schools) must:
> 1.
> Agree to test the entire 10th‐grade cohort.
> 2.
> Agree to administer the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014.
> 3.
> Notify the College Board of its participation by emailing ohpsat at collegeboard.org with the name of the district, the district contact's name and email address, and a list of schools with their College Board school codes (CEEB code) no later than Monday, June 2, 2014.
> As part of this agreement for sophomores, each participating school district will receive a consolidated invoice for all students who test in October, their unused test fees will be waived, and they will receive electronic student‐level data.
> Any district not participating in testing their entire 10th-grade cohort will still be able to offer the PSAT/NMSQT to any number of students at the standard PSAT/NMSQT rate of $14 per tested student.
> Junior Participation
> Junior participation in the PSAT/NMSQT will remain standard, as junior participation was not part of the state‐level agreement. All junior PSAT/NMSQT assessments will be invoiced per tested student. Fee waivers are available for low‐income junior PSAT/NMSQT takers.
> If any Ohio district wants to test all ninth‐ or 11th‐graders in addition to the 10th‐grade cohort, the district may qualify for a reduced rate for those grades. If your district wants to test all freshman or juniors, please include this in your email to ohpsat at collegeboard.org.
> The College Board is committed to moving beyond delivering assessments to delivering opportunity to all students to propel them toward college and career success. If you have any questions, please contact us at 847-653-4560 or ohpsat at collegeboard.org.
