[Ohiogift] interviews???

I'd like to thank everyone for all of the great feedback about interviews. I have another question. I would like to take a class this year that would prepare me for interviews since I have been away from the field for a couple of years. I plan to dedicate this year to finding a gifted position next year. I need to be able to discuss the current trends in education, and more specifically, gifted education. Can anyone suggest a course? It would have to be in the NW quadrant of the state or online....or maybe something that meets weekends. Please let me know if you know of anything.

I would also encourage you to read as much on differentiation of instruction as you can and on coaching teachers. More and more, these are the models being used. Lots of talk these days too about project-based and problem-based instruction. Schools and districts want their gifted learners to be making greater growth (especially in math and reading) and you'll want to read about gifted learners and the Common Core standards.

I began working for my current district in a gifted position five years ago, but returned to the regular classroom when my position was eliminated. I have decided that I want to find a gifted position because I enjoyed my three years in this field so much. However, I am having a hard time preparing for interviews because the expectations are very different from times I have interviewed in the past. I have decided to spend the next year preparing for interviews. My question to you is what types of things should I prepare to bring to interviews to show the type of teacher I am? I feel that I am unprepared, yet don't know what to prepare to bring with me.
