Hello, is PTRACE allowed by ordinary users on your system?  Try running the
following:
cat /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope

If that returns 1 then I think it is a security restriction on your system.

If that is the case then you can follow one o the workarounds mentioned in
the following url:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/146160/what-is-the-ptrace-scope-workaround-for-wine-programs-and-are-there-any-risks
