Washington University postdoc
 The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral teaching fellowship in modern Chinese literature and culture to begin in August 2016.  This position is co-sponsored by Taiwan Ministry of Education and Washington University to promote Taiwan studies. The course load will be three courses over two semesters. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in modern Chinese literature and culture or in comparative literature with modern Chinese literature and culture as the major field. Candidates who are able to teach Taiwan literature and/or culture related courses will be given preferable consideration. Candidates must have a Ph.D. by the start of the appointment, should be no more than three years beyond receipt of their doctorate, and should be able to demonstrate prior successful teaching experience, as well as evidence of an active research agenda.

Applications must include a cover letter, current CV, at least two syllabi of proposed undergraduate courses, a research statement for the year of appointment (up to 1,500 words), and a writing sample (no longer than 30 pages).  These materials should be uploaded to the HR website. Three letters of reference should be emailed directly by the referees to Search Committee Chair, Professor Rebecca Copeland, at ealc at wustl.edu
