Suggested readings on Chinese Dream (6)
These two papers may or may not be of interest re: China Dream
They are written from a sociolinguistic view and are critical analyses of the use of discourse in China's media. The terms 'harmonious society', 'moderately prosperous society', and 'China dream' are mentioned. The discussion is not about what the Chinese government tells its own people, which remains largely within China itself (or is contained within academia). In order for the CCP to communicate its 'slick' international version of ideology to a wider world, it uses English-language discourse carried by state media. These are critical studies of how it is done --
