Call for Papers
Deadline for submissions: June 30, 2015
The 2015 annual meeting of the Western Conference of the Association for Asian Studies (WCAAS) will be held at the University Guest House and Conference Center, the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah on October 9-10. We welcome college and university faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, secondary schoolteachers, and independent scholars of Asia from the intermountain region, North America and beyond to submit proposals for individual papers, panels and roundtables on the conference theme “Asian Civilizations and Communities: Frontiers, Borders, Landscapes.” Possible topics include:
·      Frontiers: Linguistic, economic, political, demographic, geographic, religious, developmental and historical
·      Border crossing and transnationalism
·      Landscapes: Urban, rural, environmental, literary, natural, cultural and technological, as well as digital
·      Other topics pertaining to the study of East, South, Southeast and Central Asia.
