Bai Meigui translation competition
Dear all.
For anyone interested in Chinese-English literary translation, please note that the Bai Meigui Translation Competition, part of the University of Leeds (WREAC) WritingChinese project, is now open, and the deadline is 28th February. The competition is open to anyone, whether you are an experienced translator or new to it all. The text is (very) short story by the HK author Dorothy Tse. Your entry will be judged by a panel of award-winning translators (Nicky Harman, Helen Wang and Jeremy Tiang). We are also delighted to announce that the winning entry will be published in the September edition of Structo magazine (http://structomagazine.co.uk ), and the winner will also be eligible for a full bursary (worth £480) to the Translate in the City summer school in City University, London, this July (http://www.city.ac.uk/courses/short-courses/translate-summer). For the text, all information on how to apply etc, please see http://writingchinese.leeds.ac.uk/translation-competition/. What could you possibly be waiting for..?! Do feel free to forward as appropriate.
Thanks!
