Tate events, Feb. 2015 (1)
The “Advance through Retreat” exhibition mentioned in the “Tate Events” posting was shown in Shanghai’s Rockbund Gallery last year.

China hands will be interested to know that this exhibition included the famous 1970’s Li Yi Zhe manifesto as installation art. The parts referring to the party clique as a fascist dictatorship  are  underlined in red. To make it even more dramatic, the poster installation is posed opposite to a German Fascist type of installation where a tank emerges through a wall. The two installations seem tp be in dialogue.
The major author of the original manifesto, who also set up this installation, was set free by the father of China’s current party  boss, Xi Jiping.
I visited the original exhibition in Shanghai in May 2014.
