Has Chinese film produced a real hero (1)
Just by way of gentle contrast to the need for a “real hero” in China. Some years ago, a beer brewery in Germany produced bottles with a wavy neck, signaling the slight inebriation resulting from drinking the brew. The advertisement posters then read “The country is in need of new bottles” (“Neue Flaschen braucht das Land!”)  with a picture showing how they looked. (see attached image). Now calling someone a bottle (“Flasche” in German) is a standard slur for somebody who is too weak and unresolved to get anything done. The posters went up during an election campaign and in the minds of the onlookers were ironically associated with it, as the montage below shows. It would be so refreshing so see something similar happening in China.
