Position of Associate Professor of Chinese Studies
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the College of William and Mary seeks applications for a tenure-track position at the Associate Professor level in Chinese language, literature, and culture beginning August 10, 2015.  Area and period of specialization is open, but we have particular interest in candidates who have demonstrated expertise in pre-modern Chinese literature, philosophy and culture. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Chinese language, literature, culture or a related field. Native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English is required. He or she should have a strong record of scholarly publications and achievements. Devotion to program development and administration is expected, and so is commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Teaching expectation is two courses per semester. Candidate will also be expected to direct summer study abroad program on an alternating basis. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience. Candidate must apply online at http://jobs.wm.edu/postings/19021. Submit a curriculum vitae, a cover letter including statement of research and teaching interests, and four sample course syllabi.
