MCLC LIST
Buckeye East Asian Linguistics Forum
We are pleased to host the inaugural meeting of Buckeye East Asian Linguistics (BEAL) Forum, here at OSU on Friday, Oct. 24. The schedule is available online.  All talks and posters will be held in Mershon Center (Room 120 and lounge), 1501 Neil Avenue. The event is sponsored by several units and organizations at OSU, and free and open to the public.
The Forum’s keynote speakers this year are Professor Ik-sang Eom (Hanyang University, South Korea) presenting a lecture on “Why are some Korean words similar to Japanese and Old Chinese?” (abstract) and Professor J. Marshall Unger (Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, OSU) presenting “How many syllables are reflected in Early Middle Japanese yo?  From one end of Japanese language history to the other” (abstract)  The Forum also will provide a platform for young scholars from several domestic and international institutions  to articulate and exchange ideas on their research findings.
All are welcome.  If you plan to attend, please register at the Forum website. Thanks.
