Lecturer of Chinese at the University of Denver

The Department of Languages and Literatures at the University of Denver
will hire a Lecturer of Chinese (Mandarin) for a one-year appointment to
begin September 1, 2014.  This is a non-tenure track position with full
benefits.  Salary is competitive.  The year’s teaching load is eight
classes on a quarter calendar. The lecturer will teach first and second
year classes.  Area of specialization, if any, is open.

Native or near-native command of Chinese and in English is required.  MA
or ABD status in Chinese or related field by time of application is
required.  ABD or PhD in Chinese or closely related field by time of
application is preferred.  The successful candidate must have experience
teaching Chinese language and culture to undergraduate students in the
United States.  We are especially interested in qualified candidates who
can contribute to diversity and inclusive excellence through their
teaching and service.
