Call for Applications:
 
MPhil and PhD in Chinese Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong
 

The Centre for China Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong
invites applications for its MPhil and PhD programmes in Chinese Studies
for 2014-2015. We welcome well-prepared applicants with focused research
interests in an aspect of the histories, religions, social-cultures, or
politics and governance of China and Chinese societies. As the programme
is largely conducted and examined in English, applicants must demonstrate
advanced English and Chinese language proficiency.

 
Generous graduate fellowships and additional research funding is provided
to all admitted applicants. Applicants are also encouraged to apply for
the prestigious Hong Kong PhD Fellowships (deadline on 2 December 2013).

 
Applications are being received nowfor 2014-15 and will be considered
until closing date for applications is 31 January 2014.

* Applicants for the PhD programme should also take advantage of the Hong
Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme of 2014-15.  Launched by the Research Grants
Council of Hong Kong, the Fellowship supports outstanding students from
other places in the world to come to Hong Kong to pursue PhD studies. The
Fellowship will provide an annual stipend of approximately US$30,000 and a
conference and research-related travel allowance of approximately US
$1,300 per year.  Please note the application deadline for the Hong Kong
Fellowship Scheme is December 2, 2013.  For details, visit
