Job Announcement

The Graduate Program in Translation and Interpretation (GPTI) at National
Taiwan University (NTU) announces 2 full-time Chinese-English Translation
faculty positions:

I. General requirements:

Except as otherwise specified, minimum requirements include a PhD in a
relevant field and a strong publication record. All full-time faculty
members are required to teach courses in both the graduate and
undergraduate T&I programs and are obliged to direct theses, mentor
students, and serve on various university and program committees.

II. Openings:

Track 1— Interpreting: 1 full-time position
Requirements: Teaching and research expertise in interpreting and a
minimum of 3 years of professional experience in

Chinese-English/English-Chinese conference interpreting

Track 2— Translation: 1 full-time position
Requirements: Teaching and research expertise in translation and proof of
professional Chinese-English/English-Chinese translation experience

III. Salary and Rank:

commensurate with qualifications. Initial salary per month ranges from
approximately 69,000NTD (ca. 2,400USD; subject to exchange rates) for
assistant professors to 90,000 (ca. 3,100USD) for full professors with a
regular teaching load (8 hours per week for full professors, 9 for
associate and assistant professors), with additional remuneration for
additional teaching hours and certain administrative assignments. Other
benefits include (family) health insurance, research grants and awards (on
a competitive basis), and university housing (subject to availability).

2. A photocopy of PhD diploma (Candidates who will receive their PhD
degree by 
July 31, 2014 can submit a formal university-issued temporary
diploma)
3. Proof of past/current employment (if any)
4. Proof of relevant professional experience
5. Statement of research interests and a description of courses taught
6. Transcript or academic report from the highest academic institution
(original 
copy)
7. Two letters of recommendation
8. Publications within the last 5 years (PhD dissertation included)
