Thanks to all who contributed suggestions on jokes! Our student is mostly
into the specifically linguistic and sociolinguistic aspects of how
humorous puns and such things work in living language (see f.ex. Tan Daren
1997 below) but all this is very helpful and interesting. In the spirit of
sharing, I paste below a jumbled list below including all the suggestions
I received both on and off the MCLC list, and including some references

jokes in mass-market magazines like 读者 (Reader magazine) and 青年文摘
(Youth 
Digest) [. . .] sections of heavily sanitized jokes. Meanwhile, on Weibo
there are many accounts that are mostly jokes: @贱人培训班 is one, but they
change fast."
