I am deeply saddened by the news. I also want to thank Nick Kaldis for
posting this rich and moving account of Professor Lin's life and
contributions, which in so many ways are part of the story of modern China
and Chinese-Americans. Professor Lin was a remarkable scholar
and woman. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and
students.
