Assistant Professor, East Asian History: The Department of History at The
College of Wooster invites applications for a tenure-track position in
East Asian History beginning August 2013.  The successful candidate will
teach survey courses in Chinese and Japanese History, as well as
introductory courses in history and upper-level courses in his/her area of
specialization.  We welcome applications in all areas of East Asian
History.  Sub-fields might include intellectual history, history of
science, environmental history, comparative history, global history, or
other sub-fields that complement our existing offerings.  The successful
candidate will also supervise undergraduate research in the College¹s
required Independent Study Program and participate in the College¹s
interdisciplinary programs, including Chinese Studies, East Asian Studies
and First-Year Seminars in Critical Inquiry.  Ph.D. expected by August
2013.

confidential letters of recommendation to Gregory Shaya, Chair, Department
of History.  Additional evidence of research and teaching interests is
also welcome (e.g., prospectuses, articles, chapters, syllabi, course
descriptions, statement of teaching philosophy).  Electronic submission
