Subject: Translation Studies panel--cfp
*******************************************

Call for papers: Translation Studies Panel at the 66th

Annual RMMLA Convention
October 11-13, 2012, the Millennium Harvest Hotel in Boulder, Colorado.

This panel will explore questions of how Translation Studies can
contribute to the study of Chinese Literature (and vice versa)? Possible
topics can include theoretical discussions of
³domestication-foreignization,² cross-cultural hermeneutics," "translation
documentation and research," etc. Also of interest would be exploring the
difficulties of critically engaging Chinese Literature in translation
(i.e Chinese Literature once but no longer in Chinese) especially as this
relates to English as the primary currency of "cultural capital in the
field of World Literature." Send abstracts (less than 500 words and short
bio to Jonathan Stalling at stalling at ou.edu).

Chair Jonathan Stalling, University of Oklahoma
