I thought subscribers to this list would be interested to know that
Hatchards of Piccadilly held an event yesterday evening to launch the
publication of Maggie Humm's new book: The Bloomsbury Photographs.

 

Maggie spoke in her typically informative way, showing on a screen a number
of the fascinating images from her book and she explored some of the stories
that they tell.

photographs surviving in albums kept by Virginia Woolf, Vanessa Bell, Dora

offer us a fresh portrait of the Bloomsbury Group, showing them in a new,

photographs are blurred as if taken in a hurried moment of time, and

friendships, and the significance of empathetic lives.

 

There is plenty of Maggie's insight in the book as well as the beautifully
reproduced photographs to enjoy.
