A few months ago, I offered a method for working with the Virginia Woolf
on CD-ROM software using a modern Windows or macOS system. For legal
reasons, I could make that available only to people who owned the
original CD.
I've put together a method for running the software for anyone who (1)
uses modern Windows and (2) has access to the CD, whether or not you own
it. The initial installation takes around fifteen minutes, if you follow
the instructions exactly, but only needs to be done once. The result is
that the 1997 software run like a "native" Windows 10/11 application,
with the same access to the clipboard, printers, etc., that other
Windows programs have. It also starts up and runs somewhat faster than
my earlier method does.
The method is here:

This method works only under Windows 10 or 11, not on a Mac.
