My understanding is that Kim Jones is quite a serious book collector; also, of course, the association with certain aspects of Bloomsbury with fashion/couture has by now been extensively documented and discussed, not least by Wendy Hitchmough’s recent coffee table book The Bloomsbury Look.

It is, though, interesting to compare this seller’s prices with, say, those of Jon Richardson at York Harbor Books!

Wonderful stuff there -- thanks for posting!  But perhaps others here can help me understand the context. 

 

To have a purveyor of rare books and manuscripts curate a collection in connection with someone's debut in couture at Paris Fashion Week makes no sense to me.  It seems about on the order of someone curating a collection of photographs by Julia Margaret Cameron and associated artists in honor of Authentic's 10-furlong debut at the Kentucky Derby.  (Sorry -- you can take the girl out of Kentucky, but...)

Seriously -- I'm sure there must be a connection, and I'm just failing to detect it, probably because the world of fashion is foreign to me.  Perhaps someone can help me out?
