[Vwoolf] Woolf, Conrad, and bosse

In her essay "Joseph Conrad," written on Conrad's death and first 
published in 1924, Woolf quotes from the French Lieutenant's 
conversation with Marlow in /Lord Jim/. One bit of the Frenchman’s 
comment that she does not quote, as reported by Marlow, is: "'I have 
rolled my hump (roulé ma bosse),' he said, using the slang expression 
with imperturbable seriousness, 'in all parts of the world . . . '"
